You know the thing, I wanted there to be a real kind of human dimension to this, you know.
Paul HowardGUEST

I'm a huge fan of, and it's probably clear reading the book, of shows like W1A and The Thick of It.
Paul HowardGUEST
33:15
And the idea that there's these weighty problems that they have to figure out.
Paul HowardGUEST

But we don't have a great track record in Ireland for big projects.
Adam HemmingHOST
23:39
But yeah, really, really good comedy, American comedy.

about a group of young people would recommend highly i would also recommend east of eden on netflix which i've now finished thoroughly enjoyable adaptation of the great american novel it's dark and it's desperate at times but the plot the pacing the visuals the casting the performances are all in service of the themes of acceptance guilt and freedom east of eden is time well spent i think and I finished 2012 the BBC again this is one of my shows that I've gone back to I've gone backwards in a way because I started with 2026 but similarly to that it was the marketing team that brought me the most laughs a really good comedic ensemble with Jessica Hines and Olivia Coleman the standouts going to take a little bit of a break before I go into W1A but I will complete that little series of shows and I've also finished the five-star weekend which is on Sky and Now TV I don't think I'm the intended audience for this, but I was hooked by the charm of the cast, the sparky dialogue and the twists and turns.

It's basically about a woman who's a kind of baker influencer whose husband has passed away and she invites different friends from different parts of her life to spend time with her in her home for a weekend in Nantucket.
Dickon TolsonGUEST
24:57
I think the twists tailed off naturally,
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:34
Yeah.
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:34

Abigoliah SchamaunHOST
28:35
Oh, boy.
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:36
[laughs] Which is that same idea, but directed elsewhere.
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:47
Yes.
Abigoliah SchamaunHOST
28:47
Yeah, that was-
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:47
Last time I looked, the poll was neck and neck, uh, between W1A and Brass Eye.
Tom SalinskyHOST
28:52
Uh, but I think it will be W1A because, A, I'm gonna give myself the casting vote-
Matt ChorleyHOST
47:37
Do you know where you're off to next?

Lise DoucetGUEST

So my next assignment, more seriously, is, and I was looking at flights today, is possibly to what seems to be to Israel for what are really pivotal elections.
Stephen AllenHOST
5:33
It's finding a way of costing you.
Stephen AllenHOST
5:36
I sound like I'm in W1A now.
Stephen AllenHOST
5:38
Finding ways to cost more with less whilst doing less about more.
Stephen AllenHOST
5:42
It's that, isn't it? Somehow.
