So, I mean, my hopes, and this is true of also my last book, America's Jewish Women, I had published with academic presses before.

I published these books with WW Norton, a major trade press that a lot of reputable academics publish with.

And I did that because I didn't want only academics to read my book.

It's actually one of the reasons I have something called keyword endnotes, not numbered endnotes, because a lot of readers are put off by, you know, readers beyond the academy are put off by the endnote numbers that those of us in the academy live by.

I tell the story in the book about how that ended.

I also had a contract with Norton, WW Norton.

And I was really proud of that.

After Taunton killed the book, I went to Norton and And when they first saw the manuscript, they just went, no way, we can't publish this.

She has also written several books, including Jason Molina, Writing with a Ghost, and the 33 and a Third installment on John Prine's debut album.

Their latest book is Won't Back Down, Heartland Rock and the Fight for America, and is published by W.W. Norton and Company.
