So to be clear, this is now several decades ago, but I think they're relatively timeless.

So my first thing would be to admit, honestly, that having spent more than 15 years in the Navy, by the time I served on the Hill, I was stunned by the utter lack of trust among the various components, whether they be staffers or whomever.
