I think Dan Ross, who wrote as Marilyn Ross and 17 other things, he wrote the Dark Shadows books not very well.

And, but, you know, Dan Ross churned out like over a hundred, like over 400 books.

And so there's reputations of this genre that come with like men writing as women who are churning these things out instead of the women who write, because the women who write also have very different main characters and they are writing women who are professionals.

A lot of times they're professionals on vacation.

There were paperback novels, cards, model kits, board games, coloring books, puzzles, fake vampire teeth, and even a Viewmaster set.

The novels were especially successful with author Dan Ross writing them under the name Marilyn Ross.

Most of them developed their own version of the Dark Shadows story, so they weren't really trying to follow the television series exactly, and you were getting a new story.

Dark Shadows developed a following that stayed with it long after the original run had ended.

Because, uh, we've said before Liz being Vicky's mom is never confirmed on the show.

But it was confirmed by the author of the shitty Marilyn Ross novels that we read sometimes as an upcoming plot point that had to be scrapped, and later in the audio dramas after Elizabeth dies, it is in her will the confession that Vicky is actually her daughter.

So that actually-
