Vote.gov

richest person, is funding an aggressive advertising campaign encouraging people in key states to check their registration status at a different website, VoteSafe.org. That website is run by AmericaPAC, Musk's super PAC.

While Vote.gov collects no personal information, VoteSafe.org collects the following.

First, middle, and last name, date of birth, full home address, email address, cell phone number, IP address, and location.

This information is used to drive each user's city, zip code, approximate longitude and latitude, time zone, and internet provider, browser, operating system, screen size, and language of your device, what website referred you to VoteSafe.org, every link you click, every page you look at, your voter registration status, and this is derived from a voter file held by America PAC or its vendors, not the state's actual records, your district, and ballot.

That's something we'll have to take on, that Citizens United, that's with some complications around that.

But [lip smacks] one of the things that raises, uh, aside from the s- sheer amount of money that's there, that raises a huge, huge, huge red flag is the fact that one of the things he is investing in is a website that is called VoteSafe.org. And it sounds fine, right? But unlike Vote.gov, which is the government system that does not collect our information, according to Legum of Popular Information, VoteSafe.org collects your name, your birthdate, your home address, your email address, your cell phone number, your IP address and location, um, [lip smacks] uh, every link you click and every page you look at.

Now why should that worry you? I mean, it should worry you partly because of the whole idea that we are, you know, we are being packaged to, um, to advertisers to sell us things.

I mean, it's one of the, the weird things about the way US advertising works is that we think we are being sold things, but in fact, we are being packaged and sold to, um, to, uh, people who want to sell us things.

But she does a terrific job explaining what's going on, and there is a written explanation with it as well, and we should just jump right into it.

Where she begins on May 27th of this year by saying, "I found a second vote.gov," and that's maybe one of the more concerning, uh, addresses for them to be working on.

"I found a second vote.gov, and it's registered to the White House." So does this ring a bell for you at all? This is the story as she reports it.

"There is a moment in every investigation where the thing you have been looking for finds you instead.

Mine found me on Trump Rx." She was looking at the, uh, the Trump prescription drug scheme's website.

You know, maybe they're not launched yet.

I don't know what the reasoning is.

But she says, "I started reading the names, sites that looked like they belonged to the State Department, to NASA, to the Department of Homeland Security, and then two that stopped me cold, a working preview of vote.gov," they shouldn't even have such a thing, "and something called FBI-Kirk-tipline."
