Volkswagen Up!

Now, that's a fucking stupid way to do a small city car.

Like, one of the best small city cars ever was the VW Up because, A, it felt more grown up and expensive than it actually was, but also because it was a little box.

It was absolutely functionality over style, but then the styling, I thought, had to be quite good because they lent into the boxiness and made it crisp.

When I drive my Volkswagen up around, I think, "What, what happened there? Why has everyone got these gigantic cars which they can't park anywhere?" You know, suddenly you think something w- something went wrong there.

What, what happened there? So that's, that's a big challenge, actually trying to get back what, you know...

Is that, is that the answer? The other thing is that you don't have young people so interested in cars anymore.
