Vocoder

Vocoder's a good way to put it.

You could tell me later, oh, Kanye West... produced this, and I would believe you.

And the backing vocals are done, so Carolyn's using something called the Vocoder, which is the same thing that Daft Punk uses in their songs.

So the one that sort of sounds robotic in a bit, that's Carolyn.

And then her band members from her band called Mintz, Serena Siren, Christina Zeidler, and Selena Carroll, they're ad-libbing all the vocals in the background.

an intro where I've been like writing myself but the way that I'd like to record sometimes is using this app called Voloco which is like a vocoder

and like sometimes it will just be me with my headphones and like humming as I'm walking somewhere or like sat somewhere and recording it and just like screen recording that audio and putting it into other stuff So the first part of the audio work is me using this Vocoder app to stretch and play with my voice or sometimes putting the mic all the way in so you get all of the... horrible clicky mouthy sounds that some people don't like so much.

You get a little of that and then there's some other parts where it's like really far away from me but you kind of are playing with well I'm playing with like distance I guess and like lots of voices at once or trying to play with lots of voices at once and using like a warbly autotune as a way of exploring that so that's like one part of the audio.
