Vladislav Gavrikov

So that's a, that's a significant chunk of the season, and that's pulling out your best puck moving defenseman.

That's putting guys like Vladislav Gavrikov on the top power play, which is not what you want when you're the other players there.

So, um, without going too far on a tangent, I like Adam Fox.

I would love to see him put up 80 games again.

He felt snubbed by not making the Olympic team, and he had a lot to prove.

But he also benefits from now playing with Vladislav Gavrikov, who was a guy that they targeted a year ago in free agency to get him to play with Fox specifically.

A- and that pair was great.

If you look at their, their, their metrics as a pair, really good numbers.

So I think he's a big piece of what they're trying to do this year.

And I think, again, if he stays healthy, and which is always a caveat for, for all these players, I think, I think he'll have a good year and they'll... a- and he'll be a g- he'll be a big contributor to the team.

Last skater for us, Vladislav Gavrikov.

They paid up to get him as a defensive defenseman.

Chipalufagus.

At $36.75 million for Fox, Gavrikov, Pedersen, Dursey, and Schneider, the Rangers have the second highest paid defense behind the Vegas Golden Knights.

Is this defense a top two group in the NHL? By the way, the Devils are third at $36.5 million, which, woof.

Who knows? I just don't think a reunion with the Rangers is in the cards.

But hey, the the ball is in Chris Drury's court so to speak and I guess Kreider's too because he's dictating a lot of this if he wants to come back to the Rangers maybe he reaches out and makes it happen I just don't really see it all right Pavel Dorofeev was at the player media tour uh it's out in Las Vegas usually a couple of big stars from each team I've seen McDavid there I think it's Gavrikov and Dorofeev uh who are at this year's media tour.

Not sure, but I've seen Dorofeev there, and he spoke to the hockey news, to Remy Mastey, a little about coming to the Rangers.

Now, one of the benefits, like I mentioned, he practices and trains at Prentice in Connecticut with a bunch of the Rangers.

Obviously, he has connections with some of the Russian guys, which is Sterkin and Gavrikov.

And he talked about that on Knowing Guys.

Like, Matt Rempe is on a deal.

Like, it's just – and then the defense, it's the same group of guys, Adam Fox, Gavrikov, Dersey, Marcus Pedersen, the guy from the Capitals last year, Braden Schneider.

I mean, it's goaltending, yeah, and they got Yorke's – you know, it's Korpisalo now and Igor Shostakhin, but it's like I still don't – with a couple additions, done enough to me where you're talking about a team who was the only team that was under .500 last year that could make a, what, a 21-point jump.

I just don't really see what a lot of the rest of the division maybe did a little bit more than that.

Gavrikov came over from LA a couple summers ago as a free agent.

Fox, he will become the big question if this team continues to suck, 'cause he was Mister I Will Only Be a Ranger, and it has been ugly the last two and a half, three years.
