You know, if 2026 has felt a little fast and early, it's because it is.

Advanced Viticulture has been documenting just how strange this growing season has been, including what they describe as the earliest vintage in nearly half a century.

By July 17th, harvest was already underway in parts of California.

But look, we told you about people picking at the end of June in some spots.

for the 2026-2027 term.

Now, I want to point out another one that's amusing, and this is just a recent story that kind of goes the opposite way, where trying to tie the theme to the mechanics can work badly if you don't do it accurately to the source material.

So as someone who is not a vinter, who does not grow grapes and create wine, I used to hold up Viticulture as a highly thematic game.

Because you harvest the grapes and you store the grapes.

And the longer you have the grapes, the more they're worth.
