Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network

Yeah, it was something that I knew that I wanted to do.

Every time I got home after school, I was going on flight simulator on VATSIM.

And for me, it's just always been, always had it clear from the very beginning.

Yeah, and I mean, you also chose the straightforward way, the ATPL route, which is certainly also, it's mentally, it's highly demanding.

I found some US things, which, again, were helpful.

In the end, and it was kind of a slight baptism by fire, I joined VATSIM to try and do some radio, which was good, but...

But the problem I – I think it has got better for GA, I mean.

The problem I had is, you know, I'm sat at Heathrow in a Cessna 172.

We just, you know, we'll give you a clearance to start your engine and take off and then switch to safety comm and talk to nobody.

So I think most people back then – were just kind of mainly Gatwick and Heathrow, whereas I think I looked a few weeks ago and there was somebody being a controller at Wolverhampton, for example.

So I think if you're interested in GA, VATSIM is probably even more valuable than it was if you're into SIM.

That's essentially what I'm saying.

There's a ton of us, especially those that are flying on networks like VATSIM, IVAOs, Pilot Edge.

Well, the one would argue Pilot Edge probably sees more VFR traffic, but, you know, sand tensions, all that jazz.

And so it's an interesting thought.
