Since debuting back in April of 2021, Lupe Valdez has been one of the most active female fighters on the entire UFC lineup, with her fight at UFC Vegas 22 this upcoming weekend marking her sixth-16th UFC contest.

And over the course of her first 15 UFC fights, she has fought some of the best strawweights on the planet, including Angela Hill, Tabatha Ricci, Virna Jandiroba, Mackenzie Dern, Jessica Andrade, and Tatiana Suarez.

However, we did see something from Lupe in April that we hadn't seen from her before, and that was her being stopped when Tatiana Suarez would submit her via rear naked choke in round two.

So now not only is Lupe Godinez behind the eight ball in the sense of trying to bounce back from a loss, which she has successfully done multiple times so far in her UFC run, now she's trying to get the nasty taste out of her mouth of being forced to tap.
Big EHOST
And she had two, two wins in a row before that, Julia Palaste and Jessica Andrade.
Big EHOST
She lost to Mackenzie Dern, who's the, the current champion, and Virna Jandiroba, who fought for that vacant title as well.
Big EHOST
So, uh, before that, she was on a good win streak, beating people like Cynthia Calvillo, Emily Ducote, Elise Reed, and Tabatha Ricci.
Big EHOST
So, uh, she's got the ability to get the wins, it's just, you know, will she pull it through this time? Will she be able to stop Katlyn Chookagian and her power? Um, 'cause Chookagian definitely has the power, but she's, she's a real tricky fighter.

Uh, and, and like, Lu- Lupe, you know, I- I know the, the two and three record in her last five really makes people, like, furrow their brow and stuff like that, but look, it's, it's Tatiana Suarez, it's Mackenzie Dern, and it's Virna Jandiroba.

So like-

Yeah

Lupe in this one, way more experienced versus top women.
speaker_0HOST
She's two and three in her last five, but her loss is Tatiana Suarez, Mackenzie Dern the current champion, and Virna Jandiroba, who Mackenzie Dern beat for the championship.
speaker_0HOST
Definitely way more experienced.
speaker_0HOST
In all honesty, I don't understand this matchmaking.
SeanHOST
I can see Gillian versus Lupe at some point.
SeanHOST
Lupe Valdez is two and three in her last five fights, but those three losses are against champion Mackenzie Dern, number two, Virna Jandiroba, and number three, Tatiana Suarez.
SeanHOST
So I mean, Ketlen Souza, I think she gets smoked by all three of those people as well.
SeanHOST
I don't know.
