We have Everett Clinic.

We have this chip that Virginia Mason put in me that we'll all actually take out together when the day comes.

They put it in my spine when they did the spinal tap.

They're in trouble, man.

I think the other piece, I worked in a health system that used Toyota production.

So Toyota production system, and then Virginia Mason took it out in the West Coast in Seattle, Portland, I...

Sorry.

I get the West Coast sta- it was one of the northern West Coast states.

Yeah.

Virginia Mason took it, put it into healthcare because they had some really tragic outcomes.

There was a book about it called Transforming Healthcare.

Mm-hmm.

So I, I give a lot of credit to our new COO, Kateri Chapman.

She previously spent 20 years at Virginia Mason, and I'm super excited to have her as a partner on this journey.

And we've agreed it's not a matter of resetting our culture, it's a matter of building on it and improving as we move forward.

And so we have six values that we wanna make sure we're living every day.

So I had to find a hotel somewhere else.

And I stayed at this place, the in at Virginia Mason and, That happens to be up a very steep, little short, but steep incline of a hill.

And it's incredibly funny because this inn is attached to the hospital.

The emergency room is at the top of this hill, which means that if you need to get any kind of medical assistance, you have to go up this steep hill to get to the emergency room.

100 days, absolutely outrageous.

Uh, just a few of the business leaders that signed on to this, the CEOs from Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Nordstrom, T-Mobile, Alaska Airlines, Zillow, the Seattle Mariners, Puget Sound Energy, Kaiser, Fred Hutch, BECU, Virginia Mason, Weyerhaeuser, and Madrona.

I mean, the who's who.

Uh, and it included also the, uh, CEO of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Joe Nguyen.

I would take a drink of water and it would just shoot back out.

And so I was just... starving for weeks while we kept going back to the er and they'd say they'd look and they'd say there's no blockage there's nothing wrong with you um and then finally we saw one doctor in the er who said oh this looks like a motility disorder which is more about the the function of your esophagus and um and so i finally got um Finally got referred to an esophageal specialist at Virginia Mason, kind of the high-quality specialized hospital in the area, and got a horrible test.

Never get this test to test your throat's motility.

Is it the swallow test? Yeah.

I am a board-certified sleep neurologist.

I practice at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle.

I did my neurology training back at the University of Minnesota and my sleep training at Stanford University.

I've been in practice for more than 13 years at this point.
