Virginia Lee Burton

It's an amazing true story.

She also mentioned Virginia Lee Burton's classic book, The Little House, as a literary inspiration during an interview with Kirkus.

Oh, I can totally see that connection.

Yeah, she almost reads her own story as an origin story for the empty lot that the little house left pined when it was moved out to the country.

And in family literacy, those reflections can be especially important, because when children see their own lives in books, reading isn't just something they're learning to do, it's something that connects to who they are.

As a child, author Sandra Cisneros saw something in the book The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton.

I think this book gave us comfort.

It was comforting to know that you could have one house that you could go back to and you'll never be sold.
