An example of that is, like, 2015 I started a project, it was called With You.

It was, like, me and two, like, three other producer friends, and we put out a record called Ghost featuring Vince Staples, and it was sort of like this electronic hip-hop sounding record.

I just happened to know certain people who were working at Apple Music at the time, and I also had a friendship with this guy Justin Lubliner at Darkroom Records.

Like I refuse to accept, you know, endings.

And I'm talking about the Vince Staples show on Netflix, which the hammer came down at the end of season two.

I would like to know, okay, so you play like a fictionalized version of yourself, right? on the show that is, to me, surrealist comedy.

Where does the character on that show end, and where does the real Vince Staples begin, like when it's cut, do you just go home and it's like, I'm, I'm been staples or like,

I don't think I learned that yet.

Like when it came to the show, I kind of was learning how to do everything on the fly.

And we sort of had a role in playing behind certain people.

So Vince was our next night.

you know, I feel like a lot of people in the know were very interested in this album, as was I. I must say, I'm a little bit just underwhelmed by the whole thing.

It felt like they spent the whole album process, you know, recording everybody, you know, you've got Vince Staples, Moses Sumney, Kendrick Lamar, Charles Gambino, Abong JR, which is probably the best track out of the bunch, Love Me Abong JR, Jessie Boykins III, Baby Rose, Anne Clemons, Fouché, El Mien, Raven and Nene, just to name pretty much most of them.

Sounds great, right? But it just sounds like they recorded the album and just said, okay, now for the final touch, distort every vocal possible.

it was just it just it just didn't really vibe with me like just i couldn't it's it was hard to listen to some of it because i'm just like why is we just what just because it says alternative in the title we just have to distort vocals like that's the that's the only alternative thing about it it feels like sometimes um so yeah i don't know the execution just felt a bit odds odds to me um just uh trying to actually hear what people are saying and it just felt like It just felt like a distorted mess, vocally.
