Vin Scully

Might explain as we did yesterday, you perhaps hear what sounds like an echo.

Dodger baseball fans have been accustomed to listening to their great voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully, and they bring, uh, their transistor radios, and of course, they all just create a one big buildup, and you hear yourself, uh, coming back at you all the time as they watch the game and pick up interesting sidelines from Vinny during the regular season.

There's a spec call, the one-one.

No balls, one strike.

The Dodgers and the Padres are now for the play-by-play.

uh it just it's interesting like how he got his start um he actually um he actually served in the united states navy for two years he began his career as a student broadcaster and journalist at fordham university So he helped found the FM radio station, WKUV, which now represents a Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award each year.

He was assistant sports director.

He actually sang in a barbershop quartet.

So Lasorda became the Los Angeles Dodgers manager September 29, 1976, upon Alston's retirement.

When asked by broadcaster Vin Scully if he felt any pressure replacing Alston, Lasorda responded, No, Vin.

I'm worried about the guy who's going to replace me.

So last week's was, um, I saw, saw a thing about, uh, Vin Scully.

So that's why I put it around.

So he holds a record for the longest tenured broadcaster with 67 seasons, starting in 1950 with the Brooklyn Dodgers all the way to 2016.

Yeah.

What we have done without a 90-year-old Vin Scully and others, we would've never been able to survive without hearing those dulcet tones and voices.

Yeah.

It'd be nice if they, you could listen to a game where they actually get a call right.

But about halfway through, I didn't have a partner.
