I wouldn't wanna run the game I was running at the con, just in case somebody was in it, you know? Okay, good.

So my first game was Villains & Vigilantes, um, which is an old, uh, Fantasy Games Unlimited, I think is the name of the company, game, where basically you're playing superheroes, but you play yourselves.

And we actually did the character creation where you, you, you have to stat yourself up, you know? And it's really funny because, uh, of c- most of us, at the table anyways, were like, "Oh, all right, strength, seven." You know, you know, [laughs] I mean, it's like 318, you know?

Yeah.

So I think, and I know that, like, some people even run, you know, D&D type games like this, where it's like, "Oh, I look at my characters and I go, 'Well, we have a magic user who's good at illusion, so I'm gonna make an adventure where an illusionist will shine.'" If you're that kind of GM, then I think superhero game like that could work.

So you're like, "Oh, I have the Flash, so I'm gonna make an adventure where I can challenge the Flash, but the Flash's abilities will be, uh, will shine." I think you can't just have rando adventure, because otherwise they're either just gonna walk through it or have no chance.

So I don't know if this one that the guy ran in Villains & Vigilantes was a module, but obviously we made our characters from scratch.
Daniel NortonHOST

So he actually had to, um...

And, but it's very familiar to me because I've got...

I was a big fan at the time of, uh, Heritage Models, uh, books, John Carter of Mars, or the Star Trek books, or the other FGU game besides this that I'm familiar with, which was Villains & Vigilantes.
JimHOST

They are all typeset the exact same columns, the exact same type, the exact same spacing, and I think that's all down to, uh, Fantasy Games Unlimited owner Scott Bizar.
JimHOST

I, I think he did the layout for this even though there's no credit for it, because it looks just like those books.
JoeHOST

I'll talk about it real quick.

I played Villains and Vigilantes, which is a superhero game from the 1980s where you build your character and you build yourself first.
JoeHOST

Like you stat yourself out three through 18. um on your stats and your real life weight can affect your agility negatively if you're too heavy but then if you're the heavy you are the more hit points and carrying capacity you have so it's a very interesting system where you have to put your real life weight down and then you get super powers on top of it super fun system had a blast with it also played dc heroes another superhero game from the 1980s that might be my new favorite superhero game.

My only hesitation is that I didn't make a character.
