Meeting Monsieur Le Douche.

I'd made it to the absolutely gorgeous month of May in Lyon, and spring was in full swing.

So were my hormones, apparently, because even after I'd survived the attack of the Guillaumes, I decided to continue my quest for meeting Monsieur Right on the French dating app I'd joined.

If you remember from part six, this particular app delivered one tailored match a day straight to my inbox, and I had 24 hours to connect with this person if they struck my fancy.

He seemed to have no awareness of the various English translations of the word, and I didn't want to burst his douche bubble, so, like the classy French girlfriend I was becoming, I kept my lips sealed.

Now that Monsieur Leduc and I were official, I decided to test the waters with telling one of my best girlfriends from home about his last name.

This is a friend who already had first-hand experience with the often hilarious dating culture in France, as she'd studied abroad with me in Lyon in undergrad.

As predicted, she could not contain her laughter.
