I have to admit, when I first watched You, I felt deeply unsettled by my own reaction to it.

Unsettled how?

Just when you think you understand his pattern, like in season one with Beck, where he is very clearly the predator and she is the prey.

Season two introduces love.

Victoria Pedretti's character?

Yes.

Victoria Pedretti would be nice.

There are so many good people he worked with.

I would like, I would love to see him work with, um, um, Tom Hiddleston again-

Beyond that, I love Victoria Pedretti's character.

Um, and it is, uh, the third s- or second short film from a young, uh, female director by the name of Eliza Barry Callahan, and it is called The Non-Actor, and it stars Maya Hawke, um, who everybody should, should love, and also stars Victoria Pedretti, who most people would know from, uh, Mike Flanagan's Netflix TV series, um, Haunting of, uh, Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

And this was really, really fascinating.

Um, it's, it's kinda...

It's not really, like, autobiographical, but it takes, um, elements of the director's life and tries to express it through her art, you know, as, as all art is an attempt to do.

And it is about this, um, woman, Elliot, who is Victoria Pedretti.

She is going to get a experimental medical treatment, um, to try to see if she can cure, um, this oncoming hearing loss.

And so she travels to a completely different city.

Uh, she's kinda doing, like, Dakota Johnson in this movie.

There's also, what's her name? Victoria Pedretti, who plays Nell in Haunting of Hill House.

She's in this movie.

Alexandra Shipp's in this movie.

Another fantastic recommendation.

And then following it up with the 2018 Netflix adaptation of Hill House, starring Victoria Pedretti.

Oh, that show is phenomenal.

It's an incredibly emotionally devastating piece of television that perfectly captures Jackson's themes of grief and family trauma.

And that is just the beginning of a very, very strange night where things go very much awry.

It takes on, I think, a very interesting angle about what we sort of do with our lives in the sense that here's this woman who's, again, played by Victoria Pedretti, and she's terrific in this.

Yes, love her.

and she used to be a dancer, and she's now a veterinarian, and I think that she has this conversation with someone who's at the farm, who is one of the sons of the person who owns the farm, who we get kind of we could kind of vague uh senses of a relation to the mob potentially um and he is clearly kind of shaded as this this um like he's interested in philosophy he says that uh empedocles was his focus in school and uh he's kind of you can tell that this family that is full of these heavies um has no use for his kind of head in the clouds space but he in talking about philosophy he's able to kind of spur this crisis of conscience for her and what she wants to do with her career potentially and then after that we kind of have um next to the farm there is this

So we had to spend a lot of time getting that movement smooth and coming to a nice smooth stop.

And that was actually the moment where I met Victoria Pedretti as well.

She came in while I'm hanging from the ceiling.

And

But she's in other stuff as well.

Um, and also, uh, Victoria Pedretti, who is in, like, the, like, Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor.
