I, I know people that do grunt that we play against, but it doesn't typically bother me, just 'cause I know it's, like, just part of their game.

I've actually gone out, I think I was watching a pro match, and you know there's some that are notorious for grunting, like Maria Sharapova used to do it really bad when she was playing, and Azarenka does it, and of course, you know, Serena, but on, like, hard shots and they scream.

But I think I was watching a match, and then had a clinic with a friend and said, and was talking about making sounds, and I tried really t- l- really hard to grunt as I was hitting, and it messed me up-

Yeah, there were always players who, you know, when you give them the target, they were so good.

Like an Azarenka was so good with, like, if you would come in and at times it was with a drive volley even for me, like a forehand drive or something.

But if you ...

if I kept the down the line a little bit open with her back and down the line, like, she was money.

Mm-hmm.

Apart from Azarenka, who seemed to be the only one who could really go toe-to-toe with her.

Yeah.

But Azarenka couldn't stay fit, and then it just descended into kind of a bit weird, bit of chaos.

And so people who may be not paying attention might be thinking that, "Oh, it's still, you know, you still get different people winning Slam.

You still almost get new Slams w- winners every year still," and everything else like that.

New world number one Elena Rybakina bested Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 on Saturday in the women's singles final, preventing a Sabalenka US Open three-peat.

Their match was the first time numbers one and two seeds met at a US Open women's final since Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka in 2013.

In the women's doubles final on Friday, friend of the show Taylor Townsend and partner Kateřina Siniaková bested the all-American duo of Robin Montgomery and Ashlyn Krueger.

After losing the first set 7-5, Townsend and Siniaková put on a show in the second, winning that one 6-nothing before closing out the match with a 6-2 third set.

And then for her to beat Coco Gauff and Sabalenka back-to-back in three setters is a remarkable achievement, I think.

Opta had a stat that she's the first player to defeat former champions in the semifinal and final of a Grand Slam event since Azarenka back at the Australian Open in 2012.

It's very hard to do, to beat two players of that quality with that reputation at a tournament back-to-back like that.

Um, and she's also the- A second player to defeat the world number one in multiple Grand Slam finals in a season after Steffi Graf.

So we have the women's final coming up on Saturday, which is tomorrow.

Uh, number one versus number two for the first time here since 2013, when that was, uh, Serena and Azarenka.
