And will that the your book helped me get started? How should they understand this part that you want to answer them? If
8:47
they apply the things I teach in the book, they will get results.
8:52
The main things I tell, I'll tell you here and I'll talk about in the book, you got to change the kind of food you eat.
8:58
You got to get away from the junk food, ultra processed foods that have lots of harmful ingredients and are pretty much devoid of nutrients, have very few nutrients in it.
9:07
You got to supplement because even if you had a very good diet with good quality food, the soils don't have the nutrients they had say 100 years ago.
9:15
Even if you eat good quality food, you just won't get all the nutrients there.
9:20
So you need to supplement.
13:15
kids
9:05
I want to get started, and will that, the, your book help me get started?" How should they understand this part that you want to answer them?
9:17
Yeah, if they apply the things I teach in the book, they will get results.
9:22
Uh, the main things I tell, I, I'll tell you here and I'll t- and I talk about in the book, you gotta change the kind of foods you eat.
9:28
You gotta get away from the junk food, ultra-processed foods that have lots of harmful ingredients and are, have, are, that are pretty much devoid and which have very few nutrients in it.
9:37
You gotta supplement, 'cause even if you eat a very good diet with good quality food, the soils don't have the nutrients they had, say, 100 years ago.
9:45
So even if you eat good quality food, you just won't get all the n- all the nutrients in it.
9:50
So you need to supplement.
12:36
Tell us a bit about your emphasis on chronic illnesses as well as the food that we eat and money.
SanaHOST
2:51
you know yeah out you can you can actually you know uh advocate you can talk about that yes it is important to have a balance um you should take care of yourself even if you're building something you're an entrepreneur founder because if you're not there in your best mind and body then who is going to take care of you know what you are building but then sometimes also there was another set of discussion where a lot of successful people they say that they had to sacrifice either they had to sacrifice their sleep they had to sacrifice their well-being for a very specific time and they had to you know and then they thought okay I'll take care of it later I mean, what do you think? Can we have that balance or is it something we are just kind of romanticizing?
3:43
No, it could be a little bit of both.
3:44
Sometimes you do have to work a little bit hard, a little bit extra hours.
3:49
But I would never recommend doing long-term, getting three hours of sleep for three months.
3:53
That's extraordinarily unhealthy.
3:55
And the truth is, the longer you do that, your health's going to suffer.
4:00
And number two, sleep is actually not only important for your health, it's actually important for your focus, your concentration, your productivity.

So what is a practical, real-world, doable approach to rebuilding your health while you are still running the thing that you have built?
BlessedHOST
10:14
Now, Victor, was there a moment that changed the direction of your life?
10:24
You know, well, in terms of health and wellness, about 20 years ago, I just started reading some books about it and I learned that we were not being told the truth about it.
10:36
I started learning that a lot of pharmaceutical drugs have a lot of bad side effects.
10:41
that they don't cure disease, they just mask symptoms, and they drain you of nutrients, but they make a lot of money for the pharmaceutical companies.
10:52
And it seemed like the more of these medications people were on, the sicker they were getting.
10:57
And I noticed that people were not being told to eat better, to supplement, because people are deficient in nutrients.
11:05
So that's what really started getting my attention, interest, you know, really getting very interested in what people call holistic or some people call it alternative medicine, although it's the medicine that's been practiced for thousands of years.

First off, what is true happiness? And secondly, what does true happiness depend on?
ShreyaHOST
3:06
So what is one health myth you push-- uh, like you wish, uh, people would finally let go of? Uh, something you find yourself unteaching almost every week.
3:18
Uh, there are a whole bunch of them, but I, I would just say two that are related is a lot of people have been told over the last thirty, forty years not to eat eggs because it's high in cholesterol, and people have been told to fear cholesterol even though it's actually an extremely important nutrient.
3:34
It's so important that your liver makes about eighty percent of your cholesterol every single day, so that's how important it is.
3:41
And people have been eating eggs for many, many centuries with no ill problems.
3:45
It's got a lot of nutrients, especially in the yolk, which also has the cholesterol.
3:49
But it, uh, so some people only eat the egg whites, but actually forty p- because of the protein, and it doesn't have the cholesterol, but actually about forty percent of the protein is actually in the egg yolk.
3:59
So you'll also get protein from the egg yolk, but it's, but all the other nutrients are in there.

12:45
So if someone listening wanted to start gently, not with a 30-day plan or a perfect routine, but with the honest first step, what would you invite them to do?
ShreyaHOST
5:48
So what is the deeper pattern underneath the roles, and how do we slowly lose touch, uh, with the self that existed before all of them?
5:59
Well, y- y- you need to dig deeper.
6:01
Like, uh, you, you gotta find out, "Why am I doing this?" And sometimes it's-Uh, you create a role for yourself, and that's fine, but, uh, y- y- you start thinking, "This is all I'm created to be." But really, often you're created to be much more than you, like, submit to yourself, and it's because of, you know, like you're saying, growing up, what you were told to do, so you, you adopt these roles, and you feel comfortable in that role.
6:23
And we're all afraid of the uncomfortable.
6:25
Your brain likes comfort.
6:27
It doesn't like anything new and strange it's never, um, come across before.
6:30
So when...
ShreyaHOST
7:45
And, like, when did you first see the loss in your own life?
9:41
So I had a guest one time, right, that mentioned diet also becoming a very core part of health, right? But then she said, grains right like rice corn those things that are grown from the ground are not actually good for us right we're not supposed to eat it because they grow from the ground it sounded a bit odd to me right because over here in Nigeria grains are one of the major foods that we eat here, right? And I think it's healthy, it's a healthy food, right? So what do you think about foods like that, basically?
10:28
And foods from the ground is fine.
10:29
It just depends on what kind of, it's like, uh, lots of vegetables, you know, most vegetables are going to be very good for you.
10:36
Now in terms of corn, I wouldn't overdo it with the corn for a couple of reasons.
10:39
It's, it's, it's high in carbohydrates.
10:41
So, and maybe that's what she meant with the grains.
10:44
Cause a lot of grains tend to be high in carbohydrates and, and, And it can lead to a whole bunch of issues, weight gain, obesity, insulin resistance, as well as possible diabetes.

purpose of my podcast right to give adults to give young adults advice one piece of advice to someone in their 20s about you know building a strong foundation for life what would it be
ShreyaHOST
8:55
So how do these health myths actually show up in their day-to-day life in ways they probably don't even recognize?
9:05
Well, uh, 'cause they, if they've been believing these health myths and u- uh, utilizing them, that's maybe what's causing some of these problems.
9:12
So one health myth they've been promoting since the early '50s is the high carb, low fat diet, which is also a high SAD diet.
9:20
People were told this is the best diet to do.
9:23
It is one of the most unhealthy diets out there.
9:26
It's led to high rates of obesity, high rates of diabetes, increased rates of heart disease and cancer, increased rates of Alzheimer's, and it's, it was something that was popularized, uh, as being extremely healthy.
9:39
And doctors knew in the beginning of the 20th century that high carb, high sugar diets are very unhealthy.
