Can you tell it's been a while since I've watched the sequel trilogy? Basically, stays behind, lines up the ship, and hits the lightspeed button so it cuts through.

the Empire ship as it goes.

The female advisor at the end that she does go to to ask to work in her lab, do you have any guess who that might be?

Leia or Holdo? It's actually

not.

It is Holdo.

Yeah.

Okay, great.

And then Finn and Rose and DJ are headed pretty much that way.

They're trying to get onto the First Order ship to interrupt the tracking beacon, but But over on the Resistance command ship, Holdo has been fueling up all of these unarmed, unshielded transports, and it looks like she's going to abandon ship.

And Poe loses his mind, accuses her of treason, and puts her under arrest.

He also does this because by this point, Finn and Rose have landed and they've infiltrated and they just need a little bit more time.

Captain Phasma herself is back from the dead, there to greet Finn and Rose and DJ when they break in.

And it is bad news all around because then DJ cuts the deal with the First Order and gives them the intel on what happened.

the Resistance is doing, which is that Holdo is going to keep flying the cruiser to distract the First Order while all of these cloaked transports land on the mineral planet of Crait, which used to have a rebel base.

So all hope seems lost, especially in the throne room, because Snoke uses the Force to drop Rey to her knees and hold her there so that Kylo can kill her and complete his training and fall to the dark.

[laughs]

So it would be great if, like, he goes up to [laughs] Holdo to be like, "Gotta tell me the plan." She's like, "First-"

Yeah

... "the service for Admiral Ackbar."

Mm-hmm.

Because at this point, Vice Admiral Holdo has been named leader of the remaining Resistance.

Mm-hmm.

They have less than 18 hours of fuel left.

It must be coming from the lead ship, and they can come up with a plan to disrupt it, and then jump and then be free.

And so they bring this plan to Poe, who's grouchy about getting sidelined from the whole Resistance career track.

And Poe says, "Well, Holdo will never go for this, but I'll go for it." So a rift appears in the Resistance, and enough people cover for Finn and Rose to take a little pod and BB-8 to go to Canto Bight, as directed by Maz Kanata-

Allow robust ships like the Mon Calamard cruisers to use their strong side shields to fire broadsides at the target.

None of this sounds like what Holdo did.

Oh, the Holdo maneuver debate.

Okay, so fan wish.

Opinions are mixed.

Some users argue that the Admiral Ackbar should have performed the heroic hyperspace kamikaze jump instead of the new character.

The studio choice, filmmakers chose to use Holdo to preserve Ackbar's legacy or to drive Poe Dameron's character arc, leaving fans to create popular fan edits and rewrite scenarios.
