What is it about cartooning that drew you to use that as a starting point for your career?

Losing myself in a big box of comics when I was very little.

I sat down and was fascinated by the pictures and the stories and then I was trying to work out why the outline of the characters was one side and then the pictures on the colour was a little bit to the side.

And what I didn't know was I was seeing what's called a printing error, but that was my first experience and I thought, oh, I just really want to do this.

There's been no artistic experience.

People in my family, I think the closest my parents chose to read was a newspaper.

My father used to doodle and then he went to Vietnam and he used to write stories, of course, write letters to my mum and drew little doodles for me when I was a little kid.
