Rob SpencerHOST
26:52
Who's Veronica Cartwright? Oh, she has made a career out of being traumatized, like she is at the end of this film.
Joe OdberHOST

Oh, alien.

was in that, right? Veronica Cartwright? Is that who it is? I think so.
Jodi HamiltonHOST
43:28
So when we went to go see Body Snatchers, the remake, we were at the Hollywood Cemetery with some friends of ours, and she came out before the movie.
Sean Smith PierceHOST
43:37
See, that is a bonus to living at the L.A. end of the bar.
NightHOST
15:46
This ending with Donald Sutherland as Matthew.
NightHOST
15:52
as the sole survivor is just so heartbreaking because to see what happened between him and Brooke Adams where she succumbed to the invaders it was just heartbreaking and so when you get to the point where at the end of the film and Veronica Cartwright's character is alive and it's like oh my god she's alive and she sees Matthew and she's like oh my god you're alive kind of she's walking towards him and she calls out his name Matthew and he kind of looks at her and then Donald Sutherland gets this look on his face and points at her and lets out this screech that is so loud this alien screech and you realize he's been taken and it's like oh my god are you serious that sucks and she's just sitting there screaming no no and and it's just it's heartbreaking i mean basically signals the victory for the for the invaders like total global victory it's it's absolutely bleak but it's it's so well done like the way that it's shot it really sticks with you and of course part of that is also because the film itself is so good so you go in this ride and the end just it just kills you man okay top two this is it guys my number two i think is one of the best endings in horror movie history and seeing it in the theater it got all of us you could hear people in the crowd going what and we're just like are you serious it's just so great it's still so effective i'm gonna go with saw the original saw such a great film james wan nailed it And at the end of the film, when Dr. Gordon is making that choice.

NightHOST

You gotta cut your own foot off.
Andrew DeWolfHOST
21:17
No, Lambert sucks.
Liz EstenHOST
21:18
I like Lambert because Veronica Cartwright was actually traumatized while making that movie.
Andrew DeWolfHOST
21:23
No, I'm sorry.
Andrew DeWolfHOST

Get out of the way.
Liz EstenHOST

Spaceballs, which I only understood after I watched Alien the first time.
Liz EstenHOST
22:46
I spent my entire childhood thinking that's just some guy with an alien in his chest.
Jesse McAnallyHOST
22:52
Did you know that Veronica Cartwright, according to her, was originally cast as Ripley and was coming to set thinking she was playing Ripley and got fucking sidelined on her first day and was pissed

off.
Dave WhiteHOST

You can easily chop 10 or 15 minutes out of this and they're all at the end.
Brian WhiteHOST
48:26
And there's a couple of moments where it's like they stop the action so that like Veronica Cartwright can remind everybody like what's happened up to this point.
Brian WhiteHOST
48:36
And then like a little further on.
Brian WhiteHOST

Nancy gives a great big hairy guy a massage and she puts this heinous task out of her mind by telling him how the classical music she's playing is great for the plant growth around the spot.
Dave WhiteHOST
91:15
I like that Veronica Cartwright is giving him what most people assumed a massage was at the time.
Dave WhiteHOST
91:21
Just slapping him.
John MabeeHOST
45:52
right, yes.
John MabeeHOST
45:52
There we go, Veronica Cartwright.
John MabeeHOST
45:54
When she got splattered with the blood in the chest-bursting scene, she was totally unaware of that, so it was a genuine reaction, her screaming.
John MabeeHOST
46:03
Yeah, that's right.
Jamie KalerHOST

When I first bought this house and we walked up to the local little hood here, the little street, people go, Mr. Whipple lives in there.
Jamie KalerHOST

Laurel KathleenGUEST

So when I watched it when I was a kid, that movie, that scene was so fucking terrifying that... we kind of wore the tape out, rewinding and watching it back again because we couldn't figure out how they did it.
Laurel KathleenGUEST
22:46
And so I know there's that story about, what is it, is it Veronica Cartwright in that? She plays the blonde woman in the first one where...
