Located in Prescott National Forest between the Prescott area and Jerome, Mingus Mountain features a mix of ponderosa pines, oaks, and other mountain vegetation.

For nearly eight years, Cassandra Przemek has worn many hats at Verde Valley Sanctuary, VVS, including emergency shelter advocate, outreach and lay legal advocate, overseeing shelter and transitional housing operations, and much more.

Moving forward, Przemek, now chief programs officer, will oversee both residential and community-based programs in effort to streamline services at VVS as they continue to serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

This restructure represents the absolute strength and caliber of leadership at Verde Valley Sanctuary.

"Cassandra has worked as an advocate in both departments and demonstrated her capacity to lead," VVS Chief Executive Officer Jesse Johnson said.

In a coinciding move, Eva West, who has worked at VVS for more than twenty years, was promoted to resident services property manager and will oversee the day-to-day at VVS emergency shelter and transitional housing.

This follows the conclusion of longtime VVS employee Vivian Mann's tenure with the agency.

Mann previously oversaw community-based services.

And so we started out, um, went first, and it was one of my, one of my favorites.

We went to the Verde Valley Archaeology Center.

Again, that's just a little south, a little bit south of, of Oak Creek, and it's a private nonprofit archaeological museum, and they had lovely things.

There wasn't w- there wasn't so much of everything that you couldn't see it all.

And saw just, just an, an enormous number of wonderful little things.
