Vera

Yeah.

I mean, I'm thinking of, say, Brenda Blethyn in Vera, which may come up.

Yeah.

[laughs]

He's not gonna make the top three, is he?

No.

Okay, next up, DCI Vera Stanhope, Brenda Blethyn in Vera, 2011 to 2025 on ITV.

Commissioned by me.

Do you want to be an actress? Either.

Perhaps best known for playing Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope in the ITV crime drama Vera, which has now come to an end after 14 series.

Yeah, I can't believe it.

Tell you the truth.

I had two cats.

But then when they passed on, we were pet-less for a while.

And then our transport person on Vera lived on a farm and had loads and loads of dogs and kept bringing in pictures of puppies.

And I thought, well, why can't I have a puppy? I'd never had a puppy, a dog.

has three successful series to her name, and they're probably filling up your bookshelves if you're anything like me.

Vera is one, Shetland is another, and the most recent one is the Matthew Venn series.

There's a new installment out now called The Dying Light, and Anne Cleaves is here to talk about that and more.

Anne, welcome.

And those Americans are in the book because I raffled off a character name for a charity when I was at, I think it was when I was at BoucherCon last year.

And, yeah, so that couple got their name in the book, so I made them American.

Okay, let's talk TV a little bit, right? Because Vera, I have to tell you, in my house, when we are trying to decide what to watch for the night, if we can't agree on anything, we'll say, let's watch a Vera.

You know, so we've been through so many of the Vera shows, but obviously so many more episodes than books, right? Yes.
