Veldhoven

Deal of the Week.

Mads, who is your deal of the week? Morphotonics is a company from Veldhoven.

And attentive listeners will know we've been talking about Veldhoven recently.

I'll come back to that in a minute.

But who are they, as you ask? It's a Dutch company that's building the machines that could put a screen inside everyone's glasses.

Um, and it's basically Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography, and lithography is basically what ASML does.

Uh, and then, and a year later, about a hundred staff, they moved to Veldhoven.

It's a very small, sleepy Dutch town, uh, uh, of fifty thousand people.

They're still on that same site today.

[laughs] I'm with, uh, journalist, uh, Cihan Koc, who's, uh, written about this extraordinary, uh, piece of technology.

It's, it's a machine that makes, uh, ultra-fast high-end chips.

It's made by one company in the world, um, in a town, a little sleepy place called Veldhoven in Holland.

Um, and they are the only people wh- who can make this thing.
