Värmland County

But so then, you know, they're very characteristic.

style of fiddling who that maybe didn't have so much influences from other things and now and i think that's very cool and now of course that's so different and now we have all the schools you have folkhögskola which is kind of a pre-college level school after high school and music college where you can study and um And I think it's super fun to study these things and to listen to these specific recordings and listen to how does these tunes from Värmland, for example, how do they sound? Wow, it's so interesting with this timing and blah, blah, blah.

Or, you know, and you want to nerd on these things, but then I think it's important to think that there is just people who played this way, you know, and they were influenced by their time.

And I think that's important to have with you when you play the tunes and when you study them and when you talk about them, because now I'm myself and I play these tunes in the way that I want to play them.

Section 1, Chapter 1: The Storm Wind.

On Christmas Day, 1880, a pitiless storm raged over Lövsjö, Green Lake District in Värmland.

It seemed as though the heaven meant to tear up everything on earth and make a clean sweep of it all.

Now, do not say that no doubt there have been storms as bad both before and since, and above all, do not let any of the Lövsjö dwellers hear you, for they have known from their earliest childhood that the like of this storm could never even be imagined.

But now I must tell you that Snow White could never be cross very long when she was with dear Father.

She was always so full of wonder that he was just what he was.

And in my opinion, Snow White was not wrong in thinking it noble and kind of Father to stay all his life as assistant pastor in a poor little faraway parish of faraway Värmland.

With his learning and irresistible eloquence, added to his dignity and charm of manner, he could surely have become a dean or a bishop if he had only been willing.

I have this idea, well, the inspiration also from...

Swedish provinces and and coats of arms and regiments like it would be cool to make you know knights of Öland or Gotland those coats of arms and those colors you know so any inspiration you have you know I was thinking where would artillery where would cannons come from whether it would come from Bofors and that's Värmland then so maybe a Värmland regiment of cannons artillery

I wanted to make a unit of militia from Gävle Mm-hmm.

Like drunk guys.
