Just the way he like positioned the actors and stuff like that and the costuming and just everything is so, so cool.
J

is it horror at times for sure i would consider it more of like a like a drama like a very serious drama at times but there's definitely horrific moments especially because like you know it deals with satanic panic and you know witchcraft and sort of uh political corruption it's got like everything in it oliver reed is just unbelievable in it as uh the priest And then the lady who plays the main nun, Vanessa Redgrave, she's amazing.
J
37:12JoeHOST
I mean, the whole cast just kills it in this, especially the guy who plays sort of the doctor who is sort of like... determines if you're like a witch or like like doing like witchcraft or whatever he is like an amazing villain in this as well i can see why this movie was like banned in a lot of countries after it came out because like for like 1971 there is some fucking really shocking stuff uh in this movie there was like it's like a lot of i could see like religious people are really going crazy for this because there's a lot of stuff that would be considered sacrilegious uh even today Especially one scene involving... nuns in like an orgy and that's all I'll say about that but man the movie is fucking it's wild it's crazy but it is I loved it I cannot take my eyes off of it I was never bored and it was you know almost two hours long there's one scene involving a fucking alligator that is is outrageous and made me laugh out loud and I was like it happened early in the movie and I'm like what am I in for here? But then it, after that, the movie like totally go, it just completely goes straight.
J
38:31JoeHOST
Um, but I loved it.

But useful because obviously I could go to set and watch Saoirse work and think, oh, how can I sort of mirror what she's doing so that I can continue that with the rest of the story.

And how was it sharing those dinners with the wonderful Vanessa Redgrave as well and those conversations that you were having to build the character? What was that like?
R
28:32Romola GaraiGUEST
I mean, I had actually met Vanessa once because I think she shot almost the entirety of her part completely separately in a studio.
R
