Van Helsing

Pardon me.

2024, no, 2004, Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman and Kate Baggins.

This is another one that I never

watched and that you're obsessed with.

I was obsessed with this one just because I like the mythology of it.

So it does a good mix of Frankenstein monster, Dracula, they're all intertwined together.

And you had Van Helsing who was a slayer of vampires.

So I love the mix.

Yes.

And that's the first thing that happens here is that we meet Tomb of Dracula co-character Rachel Van Helsing.

You know, Professor Rachel Van Helsing from the Hugh Jackman movie Van Helsing, which we talked about on the X2 episode, I do believe.

I do think there is a ongoing idea of, you know, generations of Van Helsing's, you know, much like much

like generations of Belmont's.

If you would.

She goes to find her friend Dracula because she is feeling the call of Dracula.

The vampire.

Maybe he

could suck up Van Helsing.

And then we're in good shape because that could

be...

Yeah, expecting like a little golden monkey for them to grab at some point to take with them for the extra trolley of presents.

for the uh i mean i forgot to mention it last week but that is actually the vibe that i got when they were trying to escape from dracula's castle after van helsing had been killed it felt like jungle but yeah so these people discover through some oh yeah now we've got to

talk about the plot

vaguely

You think that little of me, like what the fuck?

bearing in mind i hadn't seen the film before jim like very quickly realized that this couldn't possibly be your favorite film

no it's it's a film for me in the same tranches like i guess van helsing the fourth die hard like when me and my dad were going to the cinema a lot those are the sort of films we'd see

yeah

from watching you.

I mean, the church needs to invest in the Van Helsing style crossbow that he had.

If you remember that, that was like a fully automatic Gatling gun style crossbow.

Maybe not Gatling gun, but it had like a whole bear, like a drum fucking ammunition drum on it for arrows.

And it was just like just shooting bows.

Yeah,

I think I saw Van Helsing once.

That's enough.

Interesting way to do it, which

I was like, what are they doing? And I was like, Oh, it was kind of like Van Helsing.

Yeah.

Where he like, when they were right, like rip the skin off.

it's,

yeah, Van Helsing.

Kate Beckinsale.

Kate Beckinsale.

It has been recited in

every universal film appearance of the Wolfman and would eventually be quoted in Van Helsing in 2004, the Hugh

Jackman movie.

Ooh.
