Van der Graaf Generator

Yeah.

And Charisma Records was a pretty fine label, very eclectic, but they did have Genesis, and they did have Peter Gabriel, and they had Monty Python's Flying Circus, and they had Van Der Graaf Generator, and...

You know, things like that.

I was Tony's publicist.

It said, you know, General Giant Octopus, Family Bandstand, Robert Fripp Exposure, Aqualung, Oblivion Express, Soft Machine 3rd, Hot Rats, Dark Side of the Moon, Selling England by the Pound, Two for the Palsy.

Caravan, Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night, Breakfast in America, We're Only in it for the Money, Zappa, Legend, Tangerine Dream, Lambs Lay Down on Broadway, Brain Cell Surgery, Overnight Sensation, Van der Graaf, Deteriorator, Quiet Zone, Pressure Dome, Yeah, and then the very last one was, I thought it was cool they put that on there.

Jeff Wayne's, that War of the Worlds double album.

Nice.

This is the achingly gorgeous Towards the Blue Horizon.

Track number two, Van der Graaf Generator.

I'm playing Pilgrims from the LP Still Life.

And third, well, probably the archetypal song, the classic song about friendship, friendship disappearing, but reappearing in some strange circumstances.

Their '69 one, that's, you know, $100 or $200 for that one whenever you see that.

But anyway, um, they were, they were the first to sign with Charisma, along with two other bands, Van der Graaf Generator and The Nice.

Those were the three that first signed with Charisma.

Um, their, the '74 album, the one I have, uh, they toured to support that album.

Okay.

Yeah.

That's cool that they were the, uh, just hearing you say that they were the third band to sign with Charisma, along with Van der Graaf Generator and The Nice.

I mean, just, just those two bands alone, like, those are such high caliber groups.

Multi-instrumentalist.

It has featured David Jackson from Van der Graaf Generator and David Cross from King Crimson.

And the David Cross Band.

And obviously the David Cross Band.
