Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

i've seen that one i've seen that i don't think i've seen the 80 did was there a new was there a remake of that

They did one called Vampire Hunter D and then you have Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

It came out in 2001.

Which one did I see? I saw something.

And then I think Ninja Scroll is coming as well.

And I believe Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust also.

So we're talking like heavy hitter 90s, 2000s animes that were hitting when I was working at like Suncoast and Blockbuster and stuff back in the day.

So for me to go back and like see these now on the big screen, it's like, that's cool.

Oh, uh, Demon, uh, not Demon, Viper, uh, the Viper.

[laughs] Vampire Hunter D movie, um-

So what's it called again though? I missed it though.

It's called what?

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.

All right, and that's a movie or a show?

Every film that he made was brought over.

Wicked City, Demon City, Shinjuku, the Goku Midnight Eye series, and then eventually Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, the sequel to the 1980s film Vampire Hunter D. all of which are really incredible.

And he would go on to make program for the animatrix.

He did a Highlander anime film, which as a Highlander fan who hated all the sequels, that's actually a really good fricking movie.

countless depictions of him throughout japanese literature um in movies a sunny chiba played him famously in a lot of movies he's usually depicted with an eye patch there's always a reason why he lost an eye uh but but yeah so this movie is interesting because um before this movie i would say mostly Yoshiaki Kawajiri didn't write original material or takes on famous literature.

He actually did straight up adaptations of a certain novelist named Hideyuki Kikuchi.

Like Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, and Vampire Hunter D are all novels written

by that guy.

Director Yoshiaki Kawajiri's gothic horror masterpiece from Madhouse finally gets the wide release it deserves after a cult following 26 years.

Fingers crossed for a global release.

I wonder how that works.

Because Internet Archive is how my girlfriend Emily saw Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

Which is now getting.

Yeah, on the list list.

I personally like Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust more.

But in that zone, though, you know, between there and or between Howl and Dungeon Meshi is is about where I would place it.

It had been more than 10 years since I saw this movie, and so I actually had Summer Wars above this in my memory.

Yeah.

GKids just got the distribution rights to Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

So there's going to be a new release of that.

I just really kind of want some new Vampire Hunter D.
