Cyclops struggled to step into the shoes of Professor X as field leader to a point to where it kind of makes sense to have Magneto leading the team despite being an old arch nemesis but actually the thing is like Cyclops just wasn't exactly ready to be like the leader so He could be a team captain, sure, but leading the X-Men? Like, he might not be as ready as he think he is.

Meanwhile, Dr. Valerie Cooper grants the X-Men UN sanction status.

Then we have the whole Madeline Pryor situation where a mysterious woman identical to Jean Grey appears and it's revealed that that Jean Grey is the real Jean Grey that was kidnapped by Mr. Sinister while the Jean Grey that Cyclops has been with for like, damn, who knows how long, was actually a clone of And then Mr. Sinister manipulates the clone into becoming the Goblin Queen, and she names herself Madeline Pryor.

And keep in mind that Madeline Pryor is the mother of Nathan Summers, who will eventually become Cable.

uh we will together we're going to flesh out a little bit of mystique's freedom force which is perfect because it's going to be the government sponsored team we'll talk more about it uh probably not as much today but we'll talk about it through these episodes but you know that's the government team that is going to not work out and then Val Cooper, the illustrious Valerie Cooper, is going to insist the government needs a mutant team to sponsor and have at

their disposal as a tool.

one of my top favorite episodes i've ever recorded alicia wilder and i got high and did a peepers episode for like two hours we gush over this character i love him

i love that episode too it was a it was a lot of fun i really really enjoy him so they briefly fight the leper queen who's like running away um and then so that leads into the 198 where the uh Xavier Institute has been kind of turned into basically an internment camp for mutants at this point, run by Valerie Cooper and won the Office of National Emergency.

And they have these big sentinels in the yard.

And it's called the 198 because there's ostensibly 198 mutants left.

And there's literally a group of, like, hate crimers who have, like, got an ergs there, right? They've got, like, those, like, crosses that they're ready to, like, capture the mutants and burn them alive with inside

of the internment camp that they were trying to get to safety toward.

Meanwhile, Valerie Cooper's plan... is let's make everyone stay in this camp, we'll microchip them and get them watched over by like human piloted sentinels, which are like the items that were just used in Operation Zero Tolerance to hunt and kill mutants a few years before.

These are wild stories where Mr. M represents the kind of bohemian idea of what it means to escape all of that.

The news media reports on the new mutant group known as X-Factor featuring Havoc, Cyclops' brother, Polaris, Multiple Man, Strong Guy, and Wolfsbane.

Dr. Valerie Cooper is in charge of the government-sanctioned team who use them to capture runaway mutants hoping to seek shelter with the X-Men.

So, we've encountered the never-aging Havoc before in the Foxmen films and a bit in the cartoon, and Multiple Man in one of the Fox movies, but what about the other three? And who the hell named him Strong Guy? Yeah,

he's a strong guy.

Surrounded by guards, Jubilee overpowers them and radios back to Cable's plane, as well as breaking the rest of the prisoners out for X-Force to rescue.

Leading the rest of the prisoners out onto the deck, Jubilee continues fighting more guards as Cable's plane flies in for support.

As the rest of X-Force rescues the prisoners, Jubilee is almost stopped by Valerie Cooper and Havoc before diving off the deck, allowing Sunspot to rescue her.
