So I'm going to Sunday afternoon, which I don't know what were you doing by then.

Uh, but I'm sure that you had a quieter activity than Valencia Club de Fútbol because the club improved it basically, and in one statement they got rid of their CEO of fútbol, which was the Scot man, Ron Gourlay, and their manager, Carlos Corberán.

Um, Valencia had lost on Friday, um, against Sevilla one-nil, and they are bottom of La Liga, uh, with one point after s- uh, five games, which is pretty bad.

Uh, situation was difficult to sustain at this point.

Um, and I think that we spoke about what happened the previous week against Barcelona, um, when all this tension at the stadium with the visit of the ownership.

Well, one of the most incredible things is that what happened in that statement when basically Valencia restarted their whole project, um, is that all the, all the decisions, uh, were taken because of Rodri Hernández.

I don't know if you're aware that, uh, in Monday last week, there was footage that emerged, um, from the game, uh, by the Spanish broadcasters M- Movistar, with Rodri being subbed off from Estadi.

He goes to the bench and he starts speaking with Pau Cubarsí, who is on the bench, and, like, he starts saying, "Jesus, how bad are Valencia? How bad are they? They are so bad.

Neville does a four-year stint with Sky initially.

So he joins in 2011, and then he leaves in 2015 when he becomes manager of Valencia, uh, which is probably worth a bonus at some point.

What are your recollections, and I realize I'm asking you this kind of cold, of what we should probably call first phase Gary Neville as a pundit? 'Cause I think, I think he produces a, a piece of, of analysis on Monday Night Football, and I think it's on a Chelsea game, and it's about blocking routines from corners that I think is even more of a hinge point in the way that we thought about football on TV, the w- the what we expected from pundits.

And I, I, I wish I could tell you which game it was or when he did it, but David Luiz was involved.

But I don't think he was well-liked by fans of any club.

I think he was seen as, like, Ferguson's little kind of scrappy lieutenant on the pitch.

By the time he leaves for Valencia in 2015, not only is he quite popular, everybody is very much of the view, "Well, I didn't like Gary Neville as a player, but he's a really good pundit."

Yeah, because in those early years it didn't feel like Gary Neville was speaking for Manchester United, right? And it's the same thing I think is probably broadly true of Jamie Carragher.

No, there's, there's a lot to, uh...

Well, there's a lot of, um- factors that contribute to this and in the case of Sevilla obviously you know we're talking about serial Europa League Europa League winners there um it was a difficult one to get out um but there's there's certainly some issues at the moment with the way that Sevilla are performing on the pitch as well as off the pitch that um yeah I think that from an outsider looking in I mean can only really sort of like judge it on that at this this point in time we you know not really insider information on on it but it does look like Sevilla are um a club that needs to um have a bit of a reset um and and and think about what direction they could be heading in as opposed to what they're heading in and uh yeah um I think an interesting one for me that stands out is as you say talking about disparity Valencia we know we spoke about before huge club They're eighth in the standings in terms of what they can spend.

And that gives them a budget of 98.8 million.

All right, a capped amount.

But, um, yeah, definitely worth looking into and it, it is a fascinating corner of Spanish football if you, uh, go- want to go read more about it.

Um, also time recording today, obviously we're talking on the Sunday.

Uh, we watched Valencia get absolutely battered by, uh, Barcelona, uh, yesterday and ultimately the axe has fallen on Carlos Corberán which I think was gonna be the worst kept secret in Spanish football this weekend.

Mm-hmm.

Sí, el extécnico de la Selección Mexicana, o tres veces de la Selección Mexicana, pues dejó el cargo de la Selección para, según él, ya retirarse y estar más tranquilo.

Pero aparentemente el equipo de Valencia está tras de él.

Y bueno, este no sería un equipo chico, sino estamos hablando del equipo del Valencia, que también tiene en la mira al extécnico que estuvo dirigiendo a la Hormiga González, José Luis Mendilibar y Javier Aguirre.
