Vail Pass

Snow is starting to stick at some of those key passes.

Hoosier Pass, Berthoud Pass, Vail Pass, and the tunnel's seeing some snow sticking to those roads right now.

And those snow levels will continue to drop tonight as we pull in some colder air.

Some on-again, off-again showers in Denver, and some steadier rain likely tomorrow morning as the back end of our system pulls through, and then we'll round out that rain and some of that mountain snow by about noon tomorrow.

One of FIRC's partners is Food Bank of the Rockies, specifically the location in Grand Junction.

The trucks must come through Vail Pass, which frequently has been closed due to landslides, fires, and snow.

And so when you don't receive your biggest vendor order, but you already have 600 orders placed for the week that's reliant on that delivery to get to you, there's a lot of scrambling that has to be done.

Many times we would do the best as we could to load up our vans and go to the local grocery stores and purchase food that way, which we all know is not cost-effective, and it takes a lot of manpower to get that much food and get it back to the market, broken down, ready to be boxed up and distributed.

But, but-

... okay, that, that's gonna use a lot of power going up Vail Pass

...

but that's where we need the stations the most.

Yeah.

Do you want the guy that drives at 85 miles an hour up Vail Pass telling you how to build the highway up Vail Pass?

No. No.

I mean, I, I j- I drove to, to, to, through the Vail Pass in a blizzard one time.

Uh, it's, it's the best way to get there, and it's pretty dangerous.

And poor Brian experiences how dangerous it is.
