Vaesen

It might...

I mean, it might be something for anybody that wants to maybe run Vaesen.

It might be something that anybody wants to run.

Mm-hmm.

Apocalypse Players?

Yes, Apocalypse Players.

They did a, a session of Vaesen, or Vaesen.

They, they did a few sessions of, of Vaesen, and it was very...

I can think of a couple of instances where I've used real world horrors, one in that it happened around the same time, but more is it presented a, a problem to overcome rather than being something that was outright horrific, kinda in your face, not done as shock value, but done as something that was more integral to the plot, which was I used the 1931 China floods in a scenario for Trail of Cthulhu, uh, back in the day, the Yellow River bursting and the, uh, the millions that were dispersed or drowned as a result of natural disaster.

But I know a more recent one that I've used, which I think it was great for emphasizing horror for the problems, the immediate problems that it caused, but also the human reaction to it, which was the Swedish famine of 1867 from 18, uh, through to 1869, which I used in a Vaesen scenario.

Known in Sweden as, like, the Year of Great Weakness, r- and also another word I can't pronounce in Swedish, otherwise translates to the Lichen Year because of the bark bread that was made from lichen.

Oh, God.
