Vøringsfossen

This part of the plateau is reserved for the sole use of the wild animals.

The numerous lakes on the Hardangervidda feed the Vøringfossen, Norway's most renowned waterfall.

The waters feeding the Vøringfossen are dammed and used to generate electricity.

For the sake of the tourists however, the natural level of flow over the falls is maintained during the summer months.

Bergen is located to the west of Hardanger.
