Uzziah

You will be frustrated in that training till your ego is tongued and you will finally die.

In the year that King Uzziah died, then you now see there are things.

In the day that my pride died, I saw the Lord.

In the day my ego died, in the day loss died, trainings at times of death.

I will grab the bloody meat from their mouths and snatch the detestable sacrifices from their teeth.

Then the surviving Philistines will worship our God and become like a clan in Judah.

The Philistines of Ekron will join my people as the ancient Jebusites once did.

I will guard my temple and protect it from invading armies.

Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope.

I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.

Judah is my bow, and Israel is my arrow.

Jerusalem is my sword, and like a warrior, I will brandish it against the Greeks.

So he's there among the tribes of Judah.

And it goes on, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

So if we were to go back to 2 Kings and see that time period unfold, again, about 40 years, give or take, the most famous of that bunch is Hezekiah, with Hezekiah's tunnel, with the strength of being able to stand up to the Assyrian army, we saw some things back at the end of 2 Kings when we studied it, that Isaiah makes his appearance there.

And Isaiah is trying to reassure and calm down King Hezekiah and counsel him in righteousness.

And then where does all this come from? Okay, glad you asked.

Let's go back to chapter six and see Isaiah called in the first place.

Verse 1, in the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

Now this is a temple scene, a perfect site for the calling of a prophet.

That's incredibly impressive.

And when you look at the list, and I would encourage you to go to 2 Chronicles and read about these four kings, when you read about Uzziah, he was a really good king.

He was faithful to the Lord.

In fact, it wasn't until late in his life that he was so successful in war The Bible says that he was filled with pride and he walked up in the temple and he was going to do the business that the priest normally would do.

So you look at this and you're going, what is out of place? Three out of four is not bad.

But in 2 Chronicles 27, when it's describing the reign of Jotham, listen to verse 2.

Jotham did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Uzziah had done, but the people continued acting corruptly.

In other words, just because there were three really good kings, that didn't do anything for the heart of the people.

Verse 7, Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa, and Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jerom, and Jerom the father of Uzziah, Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah, Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Ammon, Ammon the father of Josiah, Josiah became the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the deportation to Babylon.

The one that sticks out to me there is Manasseh.

Manasseh.

Verse 3.

You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah.

Then the Lord my God will come and all his holy ones with him.

On that day, there will be no light, no cold or frost.

Verse 5, Then you shall flee through my mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azel.

Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.

Thus Yah my Elohim will come, and all the saints, and it actually says with him.

So there's a gathering at the sound of a trump, and never once does Yeshua take the saints to a cloud or to the heavens.
