Uveal melanoma

So the first paper I'm going to talk about is proteomics and uveal melanoma.

This was written by Kevin Allen, who's a resident at Cleveland Clinic with Arvind Singh, oncology oncologist there as the senior author.

And so one of the things that's discussed is the idea of proteomics, where proteomics allows us to identify proteins that govern cellular behavior and It is sort of a surrogate, and we can talk about this for gene expression.

Usually we look at gene expression to detect DNA and mRNA proteins that are expressed, but really what's important is maybe the proteins expressed.

And so they go through the history of using either blood-based proteomics for metastasis or now aqueous humor proteomics to get more information in a less invasive manner about tumors and especially how that may relate to uveal melanoma.

And there's the idea that there may be diagnostic potential with aqueous.

They've talked about a few studies we can discuss where they talk about GP status.
