That was always more of like, you know, for me, at least, it was more of a distraction, like something cathartic that I could spend some time on when I'm not dealing with hard issues around counterterrorism and defense.

So from a used car salesman to a counter-terrorist.

Is that fair? Exactly.

Exactly.

At a very fair value for the customer as well, but, you know, turn it into something new.

What's the toughest thing in today's economy? Acquiring enough used cars, acquiring the right used cars, or convincing customers that right now is the time to give up their used car in exchange even for a new? What's the toughest part, Cal- Devin?

Everything you just said.

It, I mean, the, you know, even though the last three months have been records, it, it has not been easy.

... responsible but for making the decision, I, I kind of take the accountability for it, but also, you know, know that it's, we, we did everything in our power to try and make that person work.

And, and we really believe in kind of right person, right seat and, and, uh, kind of judge, uh, uh, myself and all of our team based on that.

Uh, a- and we both, we talked in both segments a little bit about it, but let's get, let's say we get a phone call today.

first thing i want to get into that i think a lot of people are curious about is what does your mindset have to be to think used cars it almost seems like you made the decision no we're going all in here what led to that how does it look in on the day-to-day i think

it's common sense honestly used car markets in the us is 40 plus million and the new car

market is 16 million you're in a small suburb Talk to me about positioning yourselves to do what you're doing volume wise in a small market with, you know, I guess these kind of other quote unquote excuses that many would use.

You don't have to be

in a metro area.

You know, we sold 300 plus used cars last month in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania with 2,900 people.

So you can do it if you believe you can and you put the right processes and the

right people together.

I agree.

I think the way the market is getting structured, the entry car space, I think, which is Alto and Espresso, will probably give way to good quality used cars.

And then that's where the core of Maruti then will begin.

Probably we're talking about Swift, WagonR.

But I think it goes to what we were talking about, affordability.

Uh, when you're in a small town and a domestic dealer in a saturated Ford market, we, uh, we've had to learn to sell used cars and, um, you know-

... we just keep growing that operation.

Wow

... you know, you've got eight dealers in a 50-mile radius.

So, you know, our, our, our strategy's just been used cars, and it's, it's grown our fixed operations.

Um, just growing our whole business in general.
