Use Somebody

I bet it was electric.

For sure, they also played classics like Sex on Fire and You Somebody.

It must have felt like a nostalgia trip.

Nostalgia is powerful, but I wonder if they risk overshadowing new material with those big hits.

But I suppose I've been kind of singing and writing for most of my life.

Like in high school, I won our school talent competition doing Use Somebody, a cover of Use Somebody with my brother's guitar, but the Pixie Lock cover version specifically.

very specific very very important and then sort of ended up having to sing in Glasgow sort of George Square which is our main George Square for like the Winterfest at Christmas that was my first absolutely like kind of terrifying gigging experience definitely felt quite shell-shocked from that and I'm sure you can find it on there is a YouTube video of that if anyone's remotely interested um So that's kind of where it started.

And then uni, I went to uni in Edinburgh and wrote a lot there and would often play at this really funny sort of eccentric venue called Henry's Cellar Bar.
