USA Boxing

card is off, bro.

USA Boxing canceled the date because there's another show on that date and they don't do two shows on the same date.

No way.

I could have sworn I seen a little emblem of you live yesterday with the fight in the front.

That's right.

Um, these boxers, you know, in America, the American system have about, um, two championship, the Golden Gloves and the National Champion, Championship, the USA Boxing.

Now, the Golden Gloves have regular tournament across.

So these guys that have come, they're a team of Detroit who have had series of Golden Gloves competitions.

We were theming it around October 31st and a Halloween night.

It was going to take place at the School of Hard Knocks, but we received some unfortunate news from USA Boxing themselves.

Coach Jason Galarza reached out last night and informed me that while our sanction was paid and my credit card was charged and the date is locked in, USA Boxing has decided that our show is levels above another person who is throwing a show September 26th.

Which has passed.

So I don't know if that date is wrong or he's throwing it October 26th.

Obviously, Coach Brown, Els, people in Georgia where we previously did a Board of Wars, they were coming together.

This Orlando Board of Wars was set to be very big, but this is the information I've been given.

He's been going back and forth with USA Boxing over the sanctioning for the show.

So I played the USTA Tennis Association growing up.

If you look at all of the different national governing bodies of sport, you can probably project that there's 40, 50 million kids playing underneath the Olympic movement that you don't even know about: USA Boxing, USA Judo.

Uh, you have all these young kids that are in the pipeline and in the program, and then you have the national team and the alumni association.

You have what's going on in NIL world of, uh, almost saving the Olympic movement because a lot of our Olympic athletes are coming out of NCAA, so how do you save those sports? So, uh, the Olympics and the movement is way bigger than just the games.

Today's discussion is about hoping that we can wrap this card up and really solidify it.

As of right now, the date isn't locked with USA Boxing, but Coach told me we're not in any worry.

If we want the date, we got the date.

Right now, as you can see, the community has stepped up, and we have a few community fights, more than we've had in the past.

So this coming Saturday, there's 14 bouts, six of them being female fights.

We have USA Boxing Metro at the Double Tree in the Hilton at LaGuardia Airport.

Now weigh in is at two o'clock with the first bell at five.

Now it will be live stream on Millions, but we all know amateur boxing is so much better in person because these are the fighters that your local boxing club have built.

The ticket that you buy on Saturday is what gives these kids these opportunities to continue growing and learning.

And just one word on how cards like this get made.

Sonia Laminoski, the VP of USA Boxing Metro, did the matchmaking and the work of getting an intercity show back on its feet in New York.

14 bouts, two cities, six females and eight male fights.

I live in East County.

I used to get upset because I used to go to the national championships with USA Boxing.

And they would have my home city.

And I'd be like...
