But seeing clips of Ranma Half makes me go, like, I need to pick that one up.

So many things I need to pick up, but those are definitely up there.

Another thing, like, talking a little bit about the general progression of the story, the series composition here, we actually have two folks, which Kazuhiro Fujita, the manga author, is credited as, like, the series composer on this, and he also did the same for Karakuri Circus, which might also lead into some things I have to say about the final season of Ushio, or the part two of Ushio and Tora.

However, it was only for that first episode because after that, he went to a higher register and started to modulate his voice as well.

But then he also brought in Valentina Polanyi.

So like Sakura from Urusei Yatsura, Helga from Vinland Saga, then Mei Mei from JJK, to name a couple of her credits.

He brought in Uh, Valentina and sort of modulating her voice for Hakumen no mono, or at the very least Valentina was, uh, what was it? The, uh, aspect of Hakumen that was Curio's mom, uh, is there a couple of times Hakumen disguises itself as a human and it's always a woman, uh, Which is another thing that in the dub, they refer to Hakumen as a he.

This was the Final Fantasy guy and the Urusei Yatsura director.

Even then, you would think, I'm going to get something fun that I can market.

And to be fair, every one of you listening to this should know, in the 80s, the OVA market was absolutely swimming in money.

It's like the one bit where it's like, yeah, okay, maybe this guy did work on a wacky show like Urusei Yatsura.

That feels like how a character from a Rumi Takahashi manga would respond to that situation.

For sure.

And you could definitely see, like, a carryover from, like, Urusei Yatsura.

That one was especially, like, here's the weird yokai supernatural element of the week that's actually an alien for some reason.

I would say Yatsura, I guess, right? Which would have been a year ago.

I love that one.

But before Mermaid Saga, Rumiko did, uh, The Laughing Target, which asks the question: What if Urusei Yatsura, but Lum's personality was evil and tied to occult instead of aliens?

Hmm.

I kind of like that.

Yeah.

It did come out obviously before Urusei Yatsura, but you get what I'm going for here.

Yeah.

And this also might be the very first incarnation of a tsundere that has been taken to, like, the 10th degree.

I did not expect Ranma to kind of become the big thing that it did.

Like I'd seen Urusei Yatsura come and go.

I'd seen some people like that, but not in the way that people liked Ranma.

And obviously I'm really excited about this third season of Ranma as well.
