At the same time, I do think that you can separate the human being from the theory.

But coming back to this problematic human being, yeah, everybody remembers him for the Ursatz, but he was also really one of the forerunners of the idea of Urtext.

The idea of going back to what a composer actually wrote and getting rid of all those late 19th century sort of great performers accretions to scores.

He was himself a public performer.

I think it was recorded in the late 80s, early 90s.

And it originally came out on the Urtext label, and it was coupled with the Bach two- and three-part inventions.

And then Nimbus reissued just the partitas in a two-disc set, and I think that was what came out in 1999 or 2000, which I was assigned to review.

And I held on to this release for a long time but I hadn't thought about it and I never really used it when I was doing comparisons when I had to review other sets of the partitas on the piano.

uh yeah i'll go um again like you guys i love revisiting over the way out now um what a film like obviously not one of the the cohen's best not one of their most famous or talked about but it's a shaggy dog story as you said before sarah like the road trip right you you You meet these colorful, kooky cast of characters.

And it's funny to see that reflected in the original Urtext with the Odyssey.

I love in the Odyssey how so much of the middle second act is like... boys, let's head on shore to get some supplies.
