Urban exploration

And to me, these people are like the quintessential people who have gotten lifetime bans.

These are urban explorers.

We've talked about this before, and I just want to give a massive, massive disclaimer.

This is the worst possible thing that you can basically do.

It is so illegal.

It is so not allowed in every single way.

Do not do this, okay? But these are urban explorers who basically sneak backstage at Disney, sneak into these various areas.

And so...

I watched some of this Urbex video.

My favorite part is the extremely British graffiti inside this abandoned thing.

Somebody spray painted Noel Edmonds.

you know, case for support being, look at all these abandoned properties you can break into and visit.

So, so thankfully we were able to get that done, but yeah, we do kind of do a nod to the Urbex community and safely, of course, retain some of the abandonedness.

And that's something we also borrowed from Eastern State as well.

The term they adopt is a stabilized ruin or suspended decay.

And it's actually illegal to explore them outside of that 1.5 kilometres section that's open to the public.

Because a lot of people don't do, what is it called? Urbex, isn't it?

Well, it doesn't stop the so-called cataphiles.

This was in 2009.

We were high school seniors, bored, and convinced that urban exploration was our thing now.

And I can assure you, it wasn't.

The city had taken control of the property, and there were rumors that historical tours would eventually begin.

A client came to me and said, "Dr.

Shefali, my 12, 13-year-old boy has joined this group of kids called the Urban Explorers." And I had just read in the paper that these two girls had died on the New York City subway because they were part of a group called the Urban Explorers.

Like that week, she tells me about her kid.

Maybe it was sparked by that tragic, tragic death.

Mm.

They're looking for the lion to hunt.

And then my o- other best friend told me, just by talking about her son, she's like, "You know, he's joined this group called The Urban Explorers." I'm like, "No, read my chapter." I think it's chapter 14.
