Upperthong

Now, in Welbury, North Yorkshire, the size of the boot thrown must be large enough to comfortably fit the foot of the thrower.

The Upper Thong Welly Wanging Championships specify the size of the boot and also the manufacturer of the boot.

Karen, this is for you.

A number of associations have been formed to govern the sport, including the International Boot Throwing Association, which is based in Helsinki, Finland, the World Welly Wanging Association in Upper Thong, UK, the World Welly Throwing Association in Settel, UK, the World Wellington Boot Throwing Association in Wellington, UK, and the New England Boot Throwing Association in Tay Harp, New Zealand, where wellies are also known as gumboots.
