And there was a sort of pause and then there was a... birders on channel there's an upland sandpiper at truance which is up the road and there was a pause of about five to ten seconds whilst the birders took that in and then absolute carnage broke out there was soup flying everywhere people trying to get scopes tripods just and everyone trying to head for the one door and everyone piled out into the road and then there was okay how do we get to truance from here and then there was someone said oh it's flying it's flowing towards Normandy so there was a sort of keystone copse dash around the island as this upland sandpiper eventually decided that it quite liked a bulb field near Normandy and we all arrived hot sweaty and nowhere near as fit as Lucy and looking into this bulb field as this upland sandpiper wandered around it was very memorable and very funny.
