Upland hunting

So it's all on the website.

It looks like it's primarily Upland Game.

That's the

only thing I'm familiar with.

The

places that have it in the state are primarily for Upland Game, Pheasant, and Chukar.

We just put out the Nevada Trucker Forecast which a bunch of people are waiting for that to come out every year.

So thanks for coming in Justin.

And I've heard that from biologists and from people out on the landscape, that the quail do not seem to be tracking truckers, so that gives people another opportunity to maybe not totally pivot to valley quail or California quail, but do something a little different.

Yeah,

we were saying that since the trucker forecast is not as much of a bright spot, that we'll try and focus a little bit more on upland game bird species in general.

birds for the just the contacts I'll go back there several times but I'm usually just hitting it once a season and moving on

yeah yeah that's a good point man in PA we have grouse we have woodcock and we have like put and take pheasants you know like a stocking a pretty good stocking program but even those stocked pheasants after a couple of days they get pushed back into places not necessarily that people won't go but that aren't really like they don't look like a pheasant would want to be there right like yeah a lot of green briar or tangled vines stuff you don't really want to walk through But it's a really good atmosphere for a pointing dog because it's all that dense underbrush.

But those kind of those things that I think upland hunters don't like, it's not like put five guys in a row and walk a field.

Yeah.

These days, Pete spends his weekends scouting, shooting quails, chasing quail, and training dogs.

Based in the Bay Area, he hunts throughout California, from the Sacramento Valley to Owens Valley and to the Trinity Alps, and is passionate about showcasing the incredible diversity of California's upland hunting opportunities.
