Tell us about your journey then from PhD scientist, chemist, I believe, through and you worked in the classic petrochemicals industry, is that right? How did you come

to where you are now? Actually, I worked at a company called UOP that serves the traditional petrochemical world.

And I started working on alternative feedstocks.

There was an energy security play that required alternative feedstocks.

And when I started doing that, I went ahead and worked on drop-in diesel fuel.

And of course, from drop-in diesel to drop-in alternative jet fuel is just one simple step.

And so I developed the technology for UOP Honeywell to do drop-in Sustainable aviation fuel.

That's the HEFA route that everybody talks about that uses oils, fats and greases.

If you go to REI, you can buy a jacket made with recycled carbon emissions.

For my background, I've been doing 30 years of process technology scaling, especially sustainable aviation fuel, from my prior job at UOP Honeywell, where I developed the first drop-in replacement aviation fuel, sustainable aviation fuel, to Lanzatec today, where I've helped scale the technology.

No, no. Molecular sieves have been around for half a century.

They're a product of commerce from the… you know, BASF and UOP and many other companies that make these techniques, but we invented the process to use the thermal energy that's available in the engine exhaust and to come up with a way to basically do it without requiring vacuum pumps and blowers and other things.

That seems like a

very big deal, that last part there.
