As confident as I am about Ray Sehorne for Pluribus, I'm equally confident about Noah Wiley for The Pit.

Anyway, yeah, it's going to be Noah Wiley.

I will say, if it's not Noah Wiley, my guess would probably be Mark Ruffalo, but I think Noah Wiley's probably taking this.

Yeah, I think if anybody else could win, it's probably Ruffalo, but Task also really kind of...

It hasn't done much.

An excellent example of just what it is we've been talking about.

Anyone who has not watched the HBO short run series Task, the final episode where a father addresses his adopted son who has killed his adopted mother, the father's wife-

... and is getting ready to go to jail.

Right.

And so who knows if some of those are gonna And then, uh, okay, the one who could win it because of the, the Pitorama is, uh, Tom Pelphrey from, uh, from Task.

Yeah.

But it looks like there's gonna be a season two of Task, so I guess that's why-

... that Task did fairly well in other categories but-

Well, let's move into Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

You ever watch the show Task? The guy in Task, Mark Ruffalo in Task, he's been in the news lately, Mark Ruffalo, he had this big cup.

It was a lemonade cup, and his daughter was saying, you used to put lemonade in there, now you put vodka in there and you think we don't know what you put in but we know you're an alcoholic and you're drinking vodka same thing they think is water is not it's spin drift and you can't have any because there might be alcohol in it it's an adult drink all right should we do a stay on the adult drink train So let's go to the adult drink train.

Brown in Paradise as Xavier Collins, Gary Oldman in Slow Horses as Jackson Lamb, Mark Ruffalo in Task as Tom Brandis, Rufus Sewell in The Diplomat as Hal Wyler, and Noah Wiley in The Pit as Dr. Michael Robbie Rabinovich.

Again, I watched season one of Paradise and then watched season two, but I imagine Sterling K. Brown's performance is just as good as it was in season one.

Slow Horses, another Apple TV show, but I haven't watched this one yet.

Maybe do you write one of the Fast and Furious movies? I don't know.

But we got Will Smith for the episode Scars and Slow Horses.

And we have Brad Inglesby in Task, the episode A Still Small Voice.

Who won this one last year, Saxxy?

The primetime Emmy show and the categories that will be featured on the broadcast itself.

We have outstanding writing for our drama series, The Diplomat, The Pit at 1 p.m., The Pit at 12 p.m., Pluribus, We See Us, Slow Horses for Scars, and Task, A Still Small Voice.

Ooh.

Then I think, oh, no, it's going to be Pluribus because, yeah, Vince Gilligan.

The only thing I'm confident of is that it's not going to be Task.

I'm not even that confident in that, though.

Oh, yeah, yeah.

The Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nominees are Patrick Ball for The Pit, Billy Crudup for The Morning Show, Sean Haddisey for The Pit, Jaron Howell for The Pit, Jack Loudon for Slow Horses, Tom Pelfrey for Task, and Carlos Manuel Vesca for Pluribus.

Um, Billy Crudup has won this category, I believe twice.

Sean Haddisey won for best guest actor in a drama series for the first season of The Pit.

I think there's going to be some vote splitting here again, but I don't think it matters.

My will and should win are going to be the same.

As good as Ball, Howell, and Haddisey are in the pit, there was no better performance on TV this year, maybe in general, maybe not just this category, maybe the best performance on television this Well, technically the show was last year, but of the nominated performances, I think there may not be a better performance than Tom Pelfrey in Task.

So not only do I think he should win, I think he's going to win, which is saying an awful lot because Task was not nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.

Uh, let's move on to the drama writing and directing, and then we'll move on.

Uh, drama directing the nominees in order of their odds at Gold Derby are Pluribus, Fully Pilot, The Pit, The 12PM Task, or that long-winded episode title, The Gilded Age, Paradise, and Slow Horses.

Now, Paradise and The Gilded Age are the two shows that do not have a nomination in writing, so I feel like they are generally then, to me, they're just not as strong.

That's just how I like to look at it.

This is where there are two pit moments.

nominees, which might mix things up a little.

So in order of the odds, Pluribus again for the pilot, The Pit, 12 p.m., then Slow Horses for that incredible episode, Scars, then The Pit, 1 p.m., then The Diplomat for I Can't Say It, And then Task.

So The Diplomat, not in writing, not in directing, sorry, which really sucks.

Whether or not you agree with him, it's impressive that he hasn't.

And also, I don't know that, does he have that much to lose? I mean, one question is he is the lead in one of HBO's hottest shows, which is Task, which is, you know, an Emmy generator.

I don't know what's gonna happen there, what impact it's gonna have his ca- have on his career.

You look at someone like Susan Sarandon, you don't really see her in much anymore, and I don't know if it's tied to her outspokenness during the election and what many people feel helped get Trump elected by going so far in the other direction.
