The Punisher: One Last Kill

They had to find a way to try to get to a place where they could have TV mature stuff, but it took a bit.

There was also The Punisher One Last Kill.

Yeah, I mean, honestly, I think the future for Daredevil and Marvel, I feel like I think Charlie Cox will remain as Daredevil for at least another five years.

I think that Punisher thing they were talking about, they were talking about doing a follow-up to One Last Kill.

I heard it was going to be like a movie or like an extended, like another thing, like a special feature like it was.

I think that would definitely include Daredevil at this point.

that for a bunch of different reasons, that became a bad idea to be so connected, right? So they kind of started to do away with that, and these shows were coming back and getting connected, but then it seemed like, okay, these shows might be safe because we went the whole way where it's like we start with the smaller budget shows that aren't really connected, and then we're gonna do big budget shows that are connected.

Okay, we don't wanna do those, what do we wanna do? Well, and that was kind of the word that we want to do smaller budget shows that are connected to the MCU, but you don't really have to watch them, right? They have some storylines, but you don't really need to see one last kill to understand why Punisher's in Brand New Day, right? So it's like, okay, these shows are safe, but we've kind of gone the full circle all the way around.

But now...

We've had multiple reports of things being scrapped, not going forward.

There's things he did in there just like Resident Evil where I feel like that's not the Frank I know, right? It'd be different if they reboot him.

They didn't.

The Frank I know in the Netflix and in Daredevil Born Again and in One Last Kill.

Lots of stuff doesn't jive.

And they really need to give Jon Bertholdt a Punisher movie, a hard-R Punisher movie.

For real, if One Last Kill

showed us anything, it's that they could have made a whole movie out of that because it just feels kind of like one or two acts out of a movie.

Yeah, yeah.

That's what it feels like.

That kind of retreads some ground we've been before, but was kind of necessary to bring this character into the modern MCU, I guess, for people that didn't want to go watch Daredevil Season 2 and both seasons of The Punisher.

You can go watch the One Last Kill special, and that'll show you who Frank Castle is outside of a PG-13 context.

First Marvel BS meter question of the night.

Reportedly, Marvel is deciding whether to make the sequel to The Punisher One Last Kill a series or a movie.

So there's kind of two parts of this, right? One, there's a sequel to this happening whatsoever.

And then I guess the debate of in what format is this going to happen? And I find this interesting just because the timing of it.

And you know who's a big part of that movie is Frank.

So it makes sense that while the getting's good, Marvel would want to get in on this and make some more Frank content.

You know, One Last Kill was nothing special, even though it was a special, and I don't think any of us particularly care much for it.

But I think this makes sense as maybe like a testing ground, movie comes out, he's in a big movie, I guess, and he's a big part of it, and people liked him in it, I would say, for the most part, it seems like.

Like, they're already back in, like, most of the modern shows.

The Punisher's getting another special at some point after One Last Kill.

Um, I don't know.

Um, I'm thinking here if there's any street level heroes I'd like to see.

But

It's one of my best shows I've seen for ages.

And I watched Punisher One Last Kill for the night there, which I've never really gotten on with the live action Punisher.

I actually thought Spider-Man in Brand New Day, his take on that film, I thought was the best.

I've seen him and he pops up in Daredevil and his own TV show and stuff.
